A 2-Day free event during NFFTY (National Film Festival for Talented Youth) 2012 with exhibitor booths, speakers, workshops, panels, demonstrations, lounges, networking opportunities, resources and film related activities targeting young filmmakers, film fans and the future of film at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall.
NFFTY’s Future of Film Expo gives exhibitors the unparalleled opportunity to meet and interact with the best young filmmakers from around the world, and filmmakers the opportunity to directly learn from and gain valuable connections and resources from industry professionals. The greater arts community will also have ample opportunities to learn and get hands-on experience with the latest technology and educational opportunities. This year’s Expo is co-sponsored by The Next Fifty, a massive celebration of the 1962 World’s Fair at Seattle Center.

The race is being held in conjunction with and benefits the Seattle Center 50th Anniversary Celebration in 2012. In Seattle Marathon style, the 10k will start and end at Seattle Center, traveling through downtown Seattle, past Pike Place Market overlooking the waterfront piers before turning around to head onto the Alaskan Way viaduct. The course then heads north on Aurora through Queen Anne, turning back around and exiting at Mercer to finish near the International Fountain.

Experience the cultural, architectural, and historical legacies of Seattle’s space-inspired 1962 World’s Fair on a 90-minute walking tour lead by expert guides from MOHAI and the Seattle Architecture Foundation. Co-hosted by Seattle Public Library, King County Library System, and the Seattle Center Foundation, this series of workshops and seminars will teach you the skills needed to discover, document, and distribute the fascinating histories of one of Seattle’s most influential events. Celebrating Century 21 will explore Seattle’s 1962 World’s Fair and considers its impact on the Seattle of today. The exhibit includes components from the Hagley Museum and Library’s exhibit Centuries of Progress: American World’s Fairs, 1853-1982, along with numerous artifacts, photographs and media documents from the 1962 World’s Fair selected from the collection of the Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI). The exhibit is produced by HistoryLink.org in partnership with MOHAI, with support from Seattle Center Foundation.
